Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
The short version: your images are processed inside your own browser and are never sent to us. Everything below explains what that means and covers the small amount of data that a website unavoidably involves.
01Your images are never uploaded
Every tool on Pixelsmith — resize, crop, compress, convert and remove EXIF data — runs entirely on your device using standard browser features: the File API to read the file you select, HTML5 Canvas to redraw and re-encode it, and direct byte processing for metadata removal.
We do not receive, transmit, copy, view, store, analyse or retain the images you process. There is no upload endpoint in this application. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and process an image — no request carries your file.
As a direct consequence, we cannot recover a file for you, we have nothing to disclose in response to a legal request about your images, and closing the tab removes the image from memory completely.
02Information we do collect
Like any website, our hosting provider processes basic technical information needed to deliver pages: your IP address, the requested URL, the time of the request, your browser user-agent string and the referring page. This is standard server-log data, used to serve the site, keep it available and investigate abuse or faults.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses or payment details through the tools. If you email us, we hold that message and your address for as long as needed to answer you.
03Cookies and local storage
The tools themselves do not require cookies, and we do not set cookies to track you across websites. Your browser may store small preference values locally (such as a theme choice); this data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
If advertising is enabled on this site, the advertising provider may set its own cookies — see the next section. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings without affecting whether the image tools work.
04Advertising
This site may display advertising to cover hosting costs. Third-party advertising providers, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Where required by law, consent is requested before non-essential cookies are set.
Advertising providers never receive your images. They cannot — the files are never transmitted from your browser to anyone, including us.
05Analytics
If we use analytics, it is limited to aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement of page visits so we know which tools are worth improving. Analytics never has access to the images you process, their file names, their metadata or their contents, because that data never leaves your browser.
06Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because we collect no personal information through the tools at all, the practical risk here is minimal.
07Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Since we hold essentially no personal data beyond standard server logs and any email you choose to send us, most requests are simple to satisfy.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on the contact page.
08Third-party links
Pages on this site may link to external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites; we recommend reading their policies before providing them with any information.
09Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page will be updated and the revised version will be published here. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
